Brian Walton’s album “America” (also known as ‘Merica) was released in 2024 to loads of fanfare. It features Brian’s hit singles like “Cowgirl Thang,” “I Love My Truck,” “Wear Them Blues,” and “Fly Higher,” which helped boost its chart success and quickly made the new tracks popular among fans. For the first time, Brian released an album featuring songs sung by other artists, with JoAnne Leaton on “Strange Sensation” and Christal Whitlock on “Can Love You More.” Both tracks were written and performed by Brian and recorded at Musty Dungeon Studios in Challis, Idaho.
What makes the ‘Merica album special is that, from the start, all proceeds were donated to veterans’ organizations like the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Wounded Warrior Project. Although sales were strong, Brian, a proud veteran, felt it wasn’t enough. This led to the creation of the ‘Merica initiative—a nationwide effort uniting artists to support veterans through a network managed by veterans’ organizations. In 2025, during the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, the ‘Merica initiative contributed 8% of total donations, marking a significant achievement.
To mark America’s 250th birthday in 2026, the ‘Merica initiative was expanded to support all Americans by adding the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, and Habitat for Humanity to its management network. With the list of contributing artists growing rapidly and donations expected to far exceed those of previous years, the ‘Merica initiative’s managing members are now considering incorporating the project into their own entity, demonstrating that the spark of an idea can still unify the nation behind a common cause. God Bless America!
Brian also released a special edition of the ‘Merica Album to support the initiative and in commemoration of our nation’s 250th birthday. Digitally remastered using Brian’s latest industry-acclaimed production techniques, the recordings will sound as authentic on your AirPods as they do blasting through a professional sound system.
