A touching coming-of-age story, Fly Higher tells the tale of a daughter going on her first date, getting married, and having a daughter of her own from the father’s perspective. Nominated multiple times at the SGA Foundations American Standards Awards, this touching song by Brian Walton has been featured in countless Disney productions, and next to Black Widow is one of his most prolific works.
Brian first wrote Fly Higher in the 2000s to celebrate the birth of his first granddaughter. However, once Disney discovered the song, it was rewritten multiple times to fit the storylines of films like ‘Alice in Wonderland’ ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘Lady and the Tramp’. This latest release is a culmination of the best of that work. Brian re-recorded the song with acoustic instruments at the state-of-the-art Musty Dungeon Studios, featuring Steve Gads rounding out the percussion.
In the official music video written and produced by Brian, he tried to convey the wholesome values of a father-and-daughter relationship while highlighting the endearing attributes of his beloved Challis, Idaho, USA. Many of the scenes in the video are of Challis and the surrounding area, thankfully compiled with the help of neighbors and friends.
